On the way to the interior of the island, we have the opportunity to observe the fields where wild cattle live and the richness of the interior of Terceira island, preserved and maintained by locals over the centuries.

We pass Pico da Bagacina in the middle of the heat, arriving at the trailhead where you will be amazed by the wonderful Lagoa do Negro.

The trail develops in the area of ​​one of the most recent eruptions on the island of Terceira, surrounded by pastures, Japanese cedar forests and other species that coexist with a stunning endemic scenery. In the last part of the trail we have the opportunity to observe the Pico Gaspar crater, rich in endemic flora.

Our lunch will be at Lagoa das Patas with its natural evolution, where you can breathe the fresh air of the forest, and try to interact with the friendly ducks that live there.

After lunch, time to go underground, visit the Natal cave. Originated from lava tubes and geological structures as diverse as flows of different types of lava, stalactites and side balconies.

On the way back to Angra do Heroísmo, there is still time for a brief stop at the Guilherme Moniz caldera, a protected area, characterized by the presence of protected species from the Micronesian forest.
