In the Azores we have the opportunity to observe around 27 species of cetaceans throughout the year, always in the company of a professional team of skippers, biologists and lookouts. Before heading out to sea, a briefing is given on cetaceans, sighting methods, safety rules and the code of ethics for cetacean watching in the Azores. Picos de Aventura has a 99% success rate of sightings per outing. On the route of the great cetaceans and the cheerful dolphins, our half-day trips out to sea are an opportunity to get to know and admire the marine mammals of the Azores in their natural habitat. Using the technique of lookouts strategically placed on the south coast of the island, our boats set off to meet these unique creatures, on a journey that is a mixture of fun, adventure, discovery and scientific knowledge.
