Itinerary
Our whale and dolphin watching adventure on Pico Island begins at the port of Lajes do Pico, on the island’s south coast.
From here, our marine biologists will give a short briefing about the experience (including some whale watching guidelines that we at Futurismo follow to respect the animals in their natural habitat), and about the species that can be observed.
The boat trip in our semi-rigid “Alfredo Baleeiro” lasts about 3 hours.
Here, in the Azorean waters, 28 species of cetaceans can be observed, and spring is considered the best time to see large whales in the Azores, such as blue whales, fin whales, and sei whales. During the trip, each passenger must wear a life jacket for safety reasons. For your comfort, Futurismo offers waterproof jackets.
