Itinerary
After picking you up in Madalena, we’ll begin with a tour of the Criação Velha vineyards. There, we can not only witness the special characteristics and beauty of Pico’s wine-growing landscape, but also understand the amount of work that went into creating it.
The typical winery clusters are also part of the heritage. We’ll visit one of these places and taste the local wine by the ocean.
Afterwards, we’ll visit the Wine Museum and its impressive dragon tree garden.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll head towards São Roque, located on the north coast. Along the way, we’ll stop at the old Lajido wine production site, discovering other features that may recall the golden age of wine that lasted over 200 years, such as small ports, tidal wells, distilleries, and much more.
We’ll end this tour in the best possible way at a local producer’s winery, savoring the famous “liquor” white wine, a very strong wine that has brought great economic success to the island.
